Henry Bowers is a self-taught artist who grew
up, and still lives, in the Deep River community of Cedar Falls in Randolph
County, North Carolina.
The challenges and celebrations of growing up in a small cotton mill village
greatly influenced the direction of his art. The realization that the cotton
mill village of his youth was quickly disappearing from the American scene led
him to focus his early paintings on mill village life. His interest in the
preservation of this American institution has led to his realistic paintings of
mill village scenes as well as other American scenes.

His unique art today goes from the cotton mill village, up and down rivers, from
the mountains, and down to the coast.
Henry Bowers takes pride in the American experience! |
